Extensions of Simple Conceptual Graphs: the Complexity of Rules and Constraints

چکیده
Simple conceptual graphs are considered as the kernel of most knowledge representation formalisms built upon Sowa's model. Reasoning in this model can be expressed by a graph homomorphism called projection, whose semantics is usually given in terms of positive, conjunctive, existential FOL. We present here a family of extensions of this model, based on rules and constraints, keeping graph homomorphism as the basic operation. We focus on the formal definitions of the different models obtained, including their operational semantics and relationships with FOL, and we analyze the decidability and complexity of the associated problems (consistency and deduction). As soon as rules are involved in reasonings, these problems are not decidable, but we exhibit a condition under which they fall in the polynomial hierarchy. These results extend and complete the ones already published by the authors. Moreover we systematically study the complexity of some particular cases obtained by restricting the form of constraints and/or rules.

This paper focuses upon the development of an efficient method for conceptual design optimization of a satellite. There are many option for a satellite subsystems that could be choice, as acceptable solution to implement of a space system mission. Every option should be assessment based on the different criteria such as cost, mass, reliability and technology contraint (complexity). In this rese...
متن کاملSigned total Italian k-domination in graphs
Let k ≥ 1 be an integer, and let G be a finite and simple graph with vertex set V (G). A signed total Italian k-dominating function (STIkDF) on a graph G is a functionf : V (G) → {−1, 1, 2} satisfying the conditions that $sum_{xin N(v)}f(x)ge k$ for each vertex v ∈ V (G), where N(v) is the neighborhood of $v$, and each vertex u with f(u)=-1 is adjacent to a vertex v with f(v)=2 or to two vertic...

متن کاملWeak signed Roman k-domination in graphs
Let $kge 1$ be an integer, and let $G$ be a finite and simple graph with vertex set $V(G)$.A weak signed Roman $k$-dominating function (WSRkDF) on a graph $G$ is a function$f:V(G)rightarrow{-1,1,2}$ satisfying the conditions that $sum_{xin N[v]}f(x)ge k$ for eachvertex $vin V(G)$, where $N[v]$ is the closed neighborhood of $v$. The weight of a WSRkDF $f$ is$w(f)=sum_{vin V(G)}f(v)$. The weak si...
متن کاملAUTOMORPHISM GROUPS OF SOME NON-TRANSITIVE GRAPHS
An Euclidean graph associated with a molecule is defined by a weighted graph with adjacency matrix M = [dij], where for ij, dij is the Euclidean distance between the nuclei i and j. In this matrix dii can be taken as zero if all the nuclei are equivalent. Otherwise, one may introduce different weights for distinct nuclei. Balaban introduced some monster graphs and then Randic computed complexit...
